Anyone got any advice on starting raw? I was looking at Benyfit Natural Adult I just haven’t a clue if my dog can remain on this indefinitely and does it have everything he needs? Would I need to add anything to his diet because this is raw? Its a minefield trying to figure it out

Hello! If it's a complete feed then it will be nutritionally complete and nothing needs to be added e.g. it will include muscle meat, bone, organ and often vitamins/minerals through veg and fruit added. However some mixes don't have this added so often people buy greens powder like Dorwest herbs to add. It's important to rotate the proteins so they have a variety in their diet. Its also important that you feed enough, should be 2-3% of their body weight, so our 35kg greyhound gets 700g-1kg a day (depending on how active he is + how hungry he is).

recommend joining BARF UK group on FB for further advice. I also found ringing Stefs Pet Pantry to be very helpful, they are a raw retailer up North and their staff are very knowledgeable on the phone. Also don't be afraid to try different brands, textures and flavours out. Good luck!

If the pack says 'complimentary food' then it is not nutritionally complete and may need additional organ, bone or vitamins/minerals added.

However as long as your dog has a variety in their diet I'm not overly stressed about it!

Thank you so much this is really helpful. I checked the online calculator when I found it and it recommends 320g per day for 16kg dog.
