The recognition of the Jack Russell by the Kennel Club seems to have caused quite a stir according to at least one daily newspaper.
Will the Kennel Club protect the Jack Russell or overtime will two types evolve?.
Under the Rules and Constitution of the The Jack Russell Terrier Club of Great Britain it states
History has shown Kennel Club recognition to be detrimental to the physical structure and working capabilities of a variety of working breeds. Therefore this club is opposed to Kennel Club recognition of the Jack Russell Terrier.  Both the The Jack Russell Terrier Club of Great Britain and the British Jack Russell Terrier Club both have Breed Standards. It will be interesting to see The Kennel Clubs.

There are so many types of JRT that I wonder which one will be used to set the breed standard?  With regards to coat type, perhaps it would need to be split into smooth and wire.  I really like Jacks and tbh can't see the need to register them but happen the people involved have their reasons for it.
