Mixing bowl composition
This is the ingredients list as printed on the packaging or manufacturer's website.
Think of the 'mixing bowl' composition like a recipe - all the ingredients you would need to put in a 'mixing bowl' in order to make the food.
Ingredients have to be listed in descending order of their weight so the higher it appears, the more there is.
Highlighted ingredients
Ingredients that we believe to be controversial or inferior are highlighted in yellow with particularly low grade, highly contentious or excessively vague ingredients in red.
As fed composition
While the 'mixing bowl' composition is useful for knowing what went into the food, it doesn't always reflect what your dog is actually eating. This is because the processes that turn the ingredients into the finished pet food can significantly alter the relative weights of the ingredients.
For this reason we've calculated the approximate 'as fed' percentages for the main ingredient categories in the finished product.
Please note that these figures are very approximate. They are estimates based on the information provided by the manufacturer in the ingredients list so the clearer the terminology and the more percentages they provide, the more accurate our estimates will be. Wherever information is lacking, we always assume the worst.
Ingredient categories
◉ Meat ingredients: includes all meat and fish ingredients except isolated fats/oils.
◉Added oils and fats: includes all isolated oil and fat ingredients.
◉ Carb-rich ingredients: includes all ingredients derived from grains, pseudo-grains, potatoes and other starchy root vegetables, sweet potato and legumes (except whole peas which are categorised under fruit and veg) except for isolated protein and extracted oils. Also includes fibre supplements.
◉ Fruit and veg: includes all whole vegetables and fruits.
◉ Other: all other ingredients. Mostly made up by nutritional supplements and additives.
For more information on any ingredient, please take a look at our Dog Food Ingredient Glossary
The dry matter level of a nutrient is the percentage there would be in the food if all of the water was removed.
With water taken out of the equation, these figures allow the nutrient levels of foods of different types (like wet and dry) to be compared on an even playing field.

91 out of 100 - Excellent
Our unique product ratings are calculated based on a number of characteristics including the quality and quantity of the stated ingredients, certain nutritional and technological additives and the processing methods used to create the food. They are designed to indicate how beneficial we think a food is likely to be for the majority of dogs when fed on a daily basis for an extended period. Click here for more information
Country of origin: United Kingdom
A technological additive is any substance added to a pet food "for a technological purpose and which favourably affects the characteristics of feed".
The most common categories of technological additives include preservatives and antioxidants, gelling agents and thickeners and probiotics.
While the primary effects of technoloical additives are certainly 'favourable' (increased shelf life in the case of preservatives & antioxidants, better food texture and consistency in the case of gelling agents and thickeners etc.) some have been linked to health problems in pets and should be treated with caution.
Unfortunately, many technological additives do not have to be declared by the manufacturer so just because they do not appear on the label does not necessarily mean they are not in the food. If in doubt, ask the manufacturer directly exactly what technological additives their foods contain.

Been with this co. On subscription for about a year now and never had any issue always arrives on time. They have some good YouTube videos too worth watching. My dog is beautiful coat, eyes and teeth . Solid poo and small amounts of it. Thumbs up from me

Pro dog raw just put the price of the 25kg luxury bundle that I’ve been ordering for years up by £28 , completely disregarding the loyalty rewards I’ve built up over the years. Upon contacting customer services I was told this was due to a price rise. Absolutely disgraceful way of treating a loyal customer. Even when boxes of there meat turned up completely defrosted they seem to think they were still ok to refreeze slightly questionable I think but I went along with there advice. The customer services phone number does not connect to pro dog raw but an intermediary that passes on messages for pro dog raw to answer via email. As you can guess I’m no longer a customer as of today.

Would this be good for a 7 month old frenchy her stools are never solid and her farts are bad (sorry for the gory details)

Terrible company. Do not buy. Please be diligent and research the reviews and just take a look at all the people they have scammed out of money for the delivery fees/no refund policy -even if you don’t receive the goods. Unethical and have reported to trading standards for breaching the Consumer Rights Act. If they treat the people who buy the food for their fur babies like that, imagine what the do to the food. Please research them.

Really?! Been using them for years and never, ever, had a problem. Exemplary food and customer service, plus their free health advice is excellent.

I have seen the reviews on Google and seems to be pretty bad. I have had issues with them and then recently advised by a vet that this brand isn’t one of the raw manufacturers that is recommended or highly rated.

I'm astonished by your comments. We have had brilliant service from them and the food has been of consistent (high) quality. I'm very happy to continue to use and support them.

Really? I can't recommend them enough. My GSP can't get enough of this. She is a different dog. Shiny coat, less poos and no smelly farts anymore. Been very happy.

Excellent, high quality food and supplements that goes above and beyond my dogs needs for agility competition and everyday life! I chose ProDog Raw to support the physical condition of my dog, Izzie, as we train for championship level competitions and Team GB selection. Feeding ProDog Raw gives me piece of mind that she is receiving the very best nutrition to fuel her active lifestyle and maintain her strength and fitness, allowing us to focus our energy on our agility performance. She absolutely loves the food and licks the bowl clean every time. Can’t recommend ProDog highly enough!

My dog underwent major gut surgery last year, after swallowing two stones. I used the lean muscle powder, to aid in his recovery and it was amazing. Not only that, but as the supplement is kind on digestion, he was still able to have it. After 3 months of rehabilitation, he was deemed fit enough to start back to light agility. Later in the year, he was selected for the European open and FCI world championship teams, for team GB. As a result, I started feeding my dogs the Pro dog raw food and it did not disappoint. They love it and even drool when they see me making it. Their overall condition has improved massively. As a company they are second to none, they are so passionate about what they do and will help you with and queries and questions you may have. I would highly, highly recommend pro dog raw to anyone, you certainly won’t regret it!

Been around raw feeding last 25yrs. This brand been added to our dogs variation of raw. We don't stick to just one brand or protein type. Variation is key and this includes brands and over the last 3mths their bowls are still licked clean.

I have been a raw feeder for the past 7/8 years and my toy breeds have tried many different brands (most of which they have liked, despite varying degrees of quality...) however I felt there was something lacking - I compete with two of them in agility and they rarely had the stamina or strength to compete over a full day (or even half a day!) at home they were happy to sleep their days away and lacked vitality and joie de vivre. The other two are older and were ticking along ok. I spoke to Heidi at Prodog and she recommended putting the competing dogs on supplements - Revive to aid quicker recovery and Maximus to help build lean muscle. I did this and also changed all of the dogs meals over to ProDog Raw, which they LOVE. The results have been phenomenal - agility dogs full of enthusiasm and able to keep their energy levels up for all of their runs and ALL of the dogs are happy, healthy and full of life again (even the 15 year old has got his sparkle back!) I am SO happy I found Heidi and ProDog - I just wish they did something for us humans!

When you have sporting dogs competing in agility at the highest level you want to fuel them with the very best food and supplements on the market. I am a member of the GB agility Team and regularly compete against the best. I need that edge, I have tried various other suppliers but Prodog Raw are in a class of their own, the condition, strength and recovery of my dogs is unbelievable, this company have so much knowledge and their passion to deliver the best on the market is outstanding. Highly highly recommended.

This brand has saved my Frenchy, she started to have really bad guts on kibble & the vet recommended changing her food. I found this brand & was really surprised in her all round improvement. I was a bit apprehensive at first as didn't want to put her through more discomfort but Heidi and her team were great, they gave me loads of good advice & quick response to my questions. Definitely recommend this product.

My West highland Terrier has really taken to the Prodog Raw complete food. His coat has become softer and has been noticed by the groomer. The service you get from Prodog has also been amazing and they will help you with any question you have regarding the dogs nutritional needs. I have absolute faith in this company and will be recommending them to others.

ProDog suit all my dogs, I have Jack Russells & a mastiff, so very different breeds. I've tried many types of raw & love the constancy of this, a lot are sloppy. Also great customer service for advice.

Absolutely amazing food, had my shar pei reggie on this since he was a pup. All those awful illness traits that come with them whether it be skin condition or tummy problems.. he has none of the typical health problems, he’s in amazing condition and his muscles really do show through his costs I’m always getting compliments on how well he looks and feels. I can only put this down to Prodog raw food, the lady owner was absolutely fantastic and took the time to explain exactly what the benefits are as well as what to recommend out of her range. The complete food is absolutely fantastic!! And reggie can not wait till dinner time! Wouldn’t go anywhere else.
