I've just landed on this forum today after 4 weeks of on and off sickness with my dog and a £700 vet bill only to conclude that they can't find anything wrong with her. We've been on Butternut Box for over five years and then suddenly the sickness happened a few weeks back. She had an anti sickness jab, a stay at the vets and antibiotics. She's been off of BB for a couple of weeks and having a digestive support food from the vet. Tried to reinstate BB slowly over the past few days and she's starting being sick again. I am horrified at the number of people on this forum who have experience similar issues with their dogs and so therefore we will be parting company with Butternut Box. I did contact them to ask if ingredients had changed but they said not.

My dog loved different dog but consistently the product weighed less than advertised. For the price I expected to get what I paid for

Thank you for the article. My dog won't ever have Canin or Hills. There are many grain-free kibbles with higher meat content at lower prices. Presently I'm mixing Forthglade 90% chicken or turkey meat with kibble. Typically, my rescued ex-racing greyhound always wants better!

My Cockerpoo puppy is now 9 1/2 months and was weened by the breeder on a dry kibble which we changed as soon as we could. We created an account with Years and initially the dog enjoyed the food but recently just refused to eat it. We chose Poppys Picnic Mighty Mince as the next try out and she’s eating and seemingly enjoying the Chicken version. We would like to try the beef but it’s never in stock at our local Asda store. I don’t really want to open another subscription until I’m totally convinced that the dog will stick with this brand. It’s frustrating that Poppys Picnic is so hard to find in stores. Quite why it’s not more widely available in large outlets like Pets at Home and Jolly’s is daft to me. I can see a point where I visit Asda and find there’s none available. This needs addressing.

Hi Julia - I supplement this semi most with wet food and no there has not been any increased scratching - my bitch standard poodle is 11 and she has 180g a day supplemented with wet food - she is a madam when it comes to food - she was on raw but decided that she did not want to eat raw anymore. Cant really afford Eden's prices either so am trying alternatives Regards Caroline

Thank you for this website has helped me on plenty of occasions and also provided shocks and disappointments with brands we thought were 'good'. Helped me show some people how poor and e pensive a certain brands food was , cos no point me telling them.

I rate this food highly. Each dog and breed is different obviously and I've had really bad fussy pot issues with my bichon frise. Ive tried every food going in 2 years and Marleybones she's very happy on. I persevered with YEARS but its meat content wasn't high enough and she didn't like it, I thought I'd lucked out until one day I ordered a carton from waitrose and she went nuts for it. Then she rejected it after two weeks, I emailed Marleybones who said to try and heat the food and add a tiny bit of cheese. Happy ever since.

I use it for dinner only as she has a special food for tear stains from America, one carton lasts me 3 days so for me it's a no brainer. The meat is compact, you'd be surprised what 1 carton can feed.

Super happy.
