how does this fair so low on meat content when it has 50% Trout and Salmon, of which 30% is fresh prepared trout and 11% dried Salmon...is it because it's fish rather then 'meat'. The other food in Seven range get much higher scores

Thanks for posting. In order to receive the high meat logo a food must contain 30% meat (or fish) on a dry matter basis - that is after all of the moisture in the ingredients has been removed from the equation. So although the recipe starts off with 50% fish ingredients, the fresh meat ingredients are actually made up of around two thirds water, most of which is lost during processing. Dry matter is the only way to compare different types of foods or foods with fresh ingredients. On a dry matter basis, the food contains closer to 25% meat which isn't bad but doesn't quite reach the standard needed for the logo.
