" YAKERS are 100% Natural Dog treats made with Himalayan Yak Milk! Tasty!
The YAKERS Himalayan Crunchy Bites are a puffed-up version of the original YAKERS Himalayan Dog Treats. These delicious bitesize pieces with a unique crunchy texture that is bursting with flavour, offering a tasty cheese treat.
YAKERS dog chews are a perfectly healthy and tasty treat for your dog as they are in low in fat at only 5.2%. Best of all they are also gluten-free, preservative free, vegetarian, rich in calcium and protein with no nasties added to ensure they are naturally good for your dog.
YAKERS dog chews are made in the hills of the Himalayas using a mix of skimmed Yak and Cow milk. A very small amount of lime juice and salt is added to harden the milk, which is then compressed into blocks and traditionally smoke dried for 28 days to give the cheese treats their unique flavour.
Important YAKERS FAQs:
Isnt salt bad for dogs? Salt in large amounts is harmful for dogs as it is for humans. However, in YAKERS we only use a tiny amount of salt along with lime juice to get the cheese to harden at the very start of the manufacturing process. The salt content in YAKERS is less than 0.1%.
Arent dogs Lactose Intolerant? Not all dogs are lactose intolerant, but if they are there is less than 1% Lactose in YAKERS. The reason is that both the Cream and the Whey are removed from the milk as part of the manufacturing process, meaning that the levels of lactose are very, very low.
How do I store my YAKERS? If your dog can resist them for long enough simply keep your YAKERS dog treats in their resealable packet in a cool and dry place until you want to treat your dog.
If your dog is over 4 months old YAKERS dog chews will be perfect for them! "

Private label (or white label) pet foods are pre-formulated recipes that companies can order from certain factories, add their own label or packaging and retail to the public as their own brand. They are therefore available from numerous suppliers. Click here for more info.
This is the ingredients list as printed on the packaging or manufacturer's website.
Think of the 'mixing bowl' composition like a recipe - all the ingredients you would need to put in a 'mixing bowl' in order to make the food.
Ingredients have to be listed in descending order of their weight so the higher it appears, the more there is.
Ingredients that we believe to be controversial or inferior are highlighted in yellow with particularly low grade, highly contentious or excessively vague ingredients in red.
Information in italics is not usually avaialble on the ingredients list but has been provided to us by the manufacturer to help with our ratings.
As fed composition
While the 'mixing bowl' composition is useful for knowing what went into the food, it doesn't always reflect what your dog is actually eating. This is because the processes that turn the ingredients into the finished pet food can significantly alter the relative weights of the ingredients.
For this reason we've calculated the approximate 'as fed' percentages for the main ingredient categories in the finished product.
Please note that these figures are very approximate. They are estimates based on the information provided by the manufacturer in the ingredients list so the clearer the terminology and the more percentages they provide, the more accurate our estimates will be. Wherever information is lacking, we always assume the worst.
