This food appears to be cooked at the standard scorching high temperatures that supermarket extruded dog foods are cooked at. Another example of this website giving a high score to a food that is actually carcinogenic.

Hi, We recently bought Purizon Senior grain free chicken with fish for our 10 year old Podenco, as an alternative to the usual Lupo sensitive 24/10. It seemed to have the same quality, natural ingredients, but a much higher meat/protein content & was a similar price. All looked good & she certainly enjoyed her new food - but after a week or so we noticed such a marked increased in thirst/urination that we actually took her to the vet for a check up, thinking she might have a problem with her kidneys, or a bladder infection. The tests were OK, so only then did we think the change of diet may be the cause. Swopped her back onto the old food and the symptoms went away. Fed the Purizon to our other Podenco (we had a large sack) & he also started to drink/pee more - so now they're both back on the Lupo! We can only assume that there is some ingredient in the Purizon Senior (haven't tried other varieties) that creates excessive thirst, or is an irritant to the kidneys/bladder. Has anyone else experienced this?

Has this product - grain-free Fish variety - had an ingredients overhaul? Looking at the list on Zooplus, it's as follows: 36% fresh salmon, 12% herring (dried), 9% plaice (dried), 8% Atlantic cod (dried), 8% saithe (dried), sweet potatoes (dried), potatoes (dried), 7% salmon oil, peas, linseed, psyllium husks, apples (dried), carrots (dried), cranberries (dried), dried herbs (spinach, thyme, oregano, sage, parsley, marjoram, chamomile, aniseed, fenugreek, marigold, peppermint), chicory inulin. [Protein 40.0%, Fat 18%, Fibre 1.5%] They (Zooplus) also list a grain-free Salmon variety which also doesn't fit AADF's ingredients' list: 31% salmon protein (partially dried and hydrolysed), 25% fresh salmon, 16% potato flakes, 6.5% potato starch, 4% salmon oil, 4% egg (dried), 3.5% spinach (dried), dried beet pulp (desugared), sunflower oil, lignocellulose, linseed, seaweed flour, 0.2% yeast cell walls (rich in mannan-oligosaccharides and beta-glucans), 0.1% cranberries (dried), apple pomace, carrot pomace, 0.05% cornflower blossoms, rosemary, Dandelion leaves, parsley, chamomile, nettle, buckhorn. [Protein 31.0%, Fat 17%, Fibre 3%] If I'm trying to find a suitable Nutritional Rating, I'd love it if the ingredients would reliably match those actually available to be bought. Could AADF please check this out with Purizon?
