Bulldogs are typically affectionate and surprisingly gentle, a true companion whilst retaining their courageous guard dog breeding.
Bulldogs are a sturdy and resilient breed although may develop hip and joint conditions, skin irritations and heart conditions.
As a brachycephalic breed they are also susceptible to overheating and some dogs may experience breathing and eye issues.
Excellent skin and coat condition and a good digestive function are especially important for medium breed dogs and are a sign of general good health.
